Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 28/08

Another week of good catches was reported by anglers fishing at Town Parks Fishery.
With the lakes full for most of the time many anglers took decent fish, too many to list individually!

The top Match Lake fished very well with some large bags of Carp and Silvers taken.
Nottingham rod Paul Taylor fished a day from peg 20 taking 25 Carp to 9lbs 4oz on coarse pellet offered mid water.

Local rod Bob Ineson ran out winner of a friendly competition with several other anglers banking over 65lbs of Carp during the night from peg 15.

Bream showed in numbers with bags to 40lbs reported from peg 3.

Maggot and castor continued to lure the Roach and Rudd with anglers having hectic sessions and taking bags to the 80lbs mark!

On the lower Specimen Lake some good Catfish have come to the bank.

Visitor Steve Bryant landed a fine 27lbs 8oz specimen after a long tussle form peg 12. Bryant had fished a large halibut pellet tight to the margin and had already been snapped twice by larger fish that ran around the main island and broke free.

Carp have also been showing in numbers pegs 6 to 11 seeing a lot of the action.

Bristol angler John Symonds fished an overnighter banking 5 Carp, the best a beautifully coloured fully scaled at 21lbs 9oz. All Symonds fish fell to Cell boilies fished tight to the main island in front of peg 10.

Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 21/08

Good catches were reported from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery this week.
The Specimen Lake provided great sport from the deeper water pegs, especially on the northern bank.

John Symonds fished an overnighter on peg 10 and banked six Carp, the best a Common of 22lbs 10oz. All Symonds fish fell to Cell boilies offered towards the main island.

Catfish continued to feed with several anglers reporting their first “tussle” with the species!

Shallower water pegs proved slightly more testing with the fish sun bathing rather than feeding. Some Carp fell for floaters during the warmer afternoons one, a very nice Ghostie of 21lbs 4oz!

The top Match Lake continued to produce very good bags of Carp and Silvers.

Carp came to the bank in numbers from the island pegs and also along the dam wall.
Robbie Metcalf made some short visits to various pegs taking 15 to 20 fish per visit on the pellet waggler!

Visitor Brian Goode fished a day session from 14 and took 17 Carp to double figures and a mixed bag of Bream, Rudd and Roach which took sweetcorn offered in the margin.

The Fishery’s tutored sessions have proved very popular throughout the summer holidays with most sessions fully booked. A party from Paignton Community College had fantastic sport with all students catching plenty of Silvers whilst one lucky angler banked a 4lb 8oz Carp!

Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 14/8

The top Match Lake at Town Parks continued to produce very good sport whilst the Specimen Lake proved difficult as the fish sunbathed rather than feed!

On the top lake good bags of Carp were taken, sometimes sporadically, along the dam wall. Pellet seemed to take the most fish although luncheon meat and sweetcorn were effective.
Silvers came to maggot and castor with most pegs providing good bags.
Some large Bream are still being taken with corn.

The Specimen Lake saw fish come to the bank although conditions were quite testing.
Plenty of fish could be seen basking on the surface but most ignored the efforts of most of the anglers to catch them!
Visitor Brian Cox did well fishing a 24hr from peg 14.
Cox banked his personal best Mirror which tipped the scales at 24lbs 3oz after falling to a crab boilie offered tight in the margin.
Catfish continued to come to the bank although no very large fish were reported this week.

Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 7/8

Good weather and plenty of fish on the feed produced a good week of catches from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery.

The top Match Lake fished better than of late with Carp showing in numbers from dam wall pegs especially during early morning and late afternoon sessions.

Visitor Craig Lewis banked 32 carp from peg 17 offering pellet on the waggler.

Rod Metcalf continued to produce excellent bags during various short visits along the deep water pegs.

Silver came from most falling to castor or maggot whilst some medium and large Bream were banked from the island pegs between 2 and 6.

On the lower Specimen Lake sport was sporadic although some pegs produced multiple catches.

Dave Osmond was on form from peg 6 taking 5 Carp during a late session, the best a fine 28lbs 7oz!! All Osmond’s fish fell to bloodworm boilies offered in the margins.

Tyson Norton fished with wife Helen and cousin Flynn from pegs 9,10 and 1 for a 24hr session. Although Tyson banked two nice Carp, Helen out fished him with a fine Common of 19lbs 2oz and a Mirror of 12lbs 3oz. Meanwhile junior Flynn fished on his own peg for the first time and took five Carp!
