Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 10/4

Another week of excellent catches was reported from both lakes at Town Parks Fishery.

On the lower Specimen Lake both Carp and Catfish came to the bank in numbers!

Jai Ash fished an overnighter from peg 10 and took six Cats to 26lbs 5oz. All the fish fell to luncheon meat offered mid water or towards the main island.

Brett Palmer fished peg 9 with girlfriend Keira and banked six Carp to 22lbs 1oz as well as a couple of smaller Cats. Palmer also took a fine Bream of 9lbs 1oz which amazingly, 15 minutes after being released was caught by Bob Ineson who was fishing the adjacent peg 10!!

Peg 1 saw Ben Haines bank his first ever Catfish which picked up two of his baits, one luncheon meat the other a pineapple boilie, which were over 3 metres apart! Haines also banked a beautiful fully scaled of 19lbs 3oz.

Ben Haines banked this beautifully marked fully scaled Carp form peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery. Haines also banked his first ever Catfish during the session.

Steve Jones fished a strawberry boilie mid water from peg 5  and banked his personal best Common Carp of 23lbs 2oz! Unfortunately, after much photo taking and congratulations Jones realised he had forgotten to insert the memory card in the camera and had no memento of the event!

Phil Lamble also fished peg 5 the following day for his first session of the season and took a lovely condition Common of 21lbs 2oz!

Over 50 double figure fish were reported over the weekend which saw fish on every peg!

The top Match Lake also fished well.

Rob Metcalf visited peg 10 and took 24 Carp to 5lbs on the pellet waggler.

Conor Nettleton fished peg 17 and banked 10 Carp to 8lbs six of which were Ghosties!

Bream showed on numbers as did Tench from the shallower pegs.

A group from Paignton College visited for a tutored session and all took Roach and Rudd with some fish touching the 2lb mark. Maggot offered up in the water worked well.

During a birthday fishing party Alex Cubborn banked a fine 4lbs 5oz Carp – amazing as it was the first time he had fished and he was using a 3 metre whip with light elastic and a 3lb hook link!!

Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 3/4

Another good week of catches at Town Parks Fishery.

Both lakes provided great sport as the fish started to feed heavily.

The top Match Lake continued to produce some huge Silvers with Roach and Rudd to the 3lb mark! Big Bream came to the bank from tight to the island in front of peg 3 whilst Carp were found in all the deep water pegs especially along the dam wall.

Rod Metcalf fished peg 17 and took 8 Carp and two large Bream fishing paste under the overhanging tree next to the peg!

Clive Bennett took 8 Carp on coarse pellet paste cast tight to the island form peg 10.

Meanwhile, the Specimen Lake saw the Catfish feeding with plenty coming to the bank. Best baits were worm or large Halibut pellets fished mid water or tight to the margins. Best of the week a 25lbs 4oz beauty taken by Rod Griffiths during a mid week overnight session on peg 14.

Gordon Batt took three Cats on tuna sticks from peg 11.

Carp fed sporadically throughout the week with some anglers taking multiple fish.

On his first outing of the year Brixham rod Rob Penfold smashed his personal best at Town Parks when he banked a fine condition 24lbs 8oz Mirror. Penfold fished a cell boilie in the margins around peg 12 during a sunny afternoon with a strong south westerly wind blowing into the reeds. 

Brixham rod Rob Penfold visited Town Parks Fishery for his first trip of the year and smashed his personal best banking this fine 24lbs 8oz Mirror Carp. The fish fell to a cell boilie offered in the margins of peg 12.

 Another Mirror of 18lbs 3oz fell to the same tactic shortly afterwards!

Chris Ward banked a beautiful 18lbs 2oz fully scaled Mirror from peg 14.

Liskeard rod Guy Phillips banked nine fish during a 48hr stint on peg 10 – the best a 19lbs 3oz Common.

Clevedon rod John Fielding banked this superb condition 20lbs 3oz Common Carp from peg 1 at Town Parks Fishery.

The Fishery’s tutored mornings take place on both Thursday’s during the Easter school holidays. Running from 9.00 a.m. until 1.00 p.m. the sessions include tuition, tackle, bait and everything you need for an enjoyable few hours on the bank.
