Town Parks Fishery - Catch Report w/e 22/08

Changeable weather conditions produced testing fishing conditions at Town Parks Fishery.
The very heavy weekend rainfall reduced the lake surface water temperature and pushed the fish deeper.
On the top Match Lake the Roach and Rudd continued to be banked in numbers but from the four to five foot deep mark! Maggot and caster favourite baits.
Some fine Bream and Perch were taken and regular Pete Bryant lost “the mother of all Bream” whilst fishing peg 4. Having fished for the British Army team Bryant has caught many Bream some of which have won awards, but he maintains that this fish is a record breaker!
Carp were taken from the usual spots along the dam wall and around the deeper points of the islands.
Once again pupils from various Torbay schools visited the Fishery for tutored sessions with all participants taking Roach, Perch and Rudd on the maggot.

On the lower Specimen Lake Catfish were in abundance with many anglers banking their first Cat’s.
The fish came from most pegs in both shallow and deeper water with halibut pellet tipped with pop up corn or worm baits the best bet.
Kevin Locke took a fine example from peg 7 during an overnight session.
The upper twenty fish was one of several fish banked in the twenty pound plus range.

Some nice Carp were also banked with some anglers taking three or four fish in a session. Most fish fell to sweet, bright baits like pineapple, strawberry or white chocolate boilies!
Birmingham rod Richard Goss visited peg 14 for a 24hr session and banked a fine 22lbs 2oz fully scaled Mirror within 20minutes! Having taken a fish so quickly he then had to wait another four hours before taking another three Carp 19lbs 3oz, 16lbs 4oz and 13lbs 5oz within a 90 minute period! Pineapple boilies proving effective!

The Fishery’s brand new website went live this week.
The site is much more detailed than the previous site and holds information about the Fishery as well an interactive gallery, and a weekly updated fishing report and blog page!
Feel free to contact the Fishery via the site at www.townparks.net.
