Town Parks Fishing Catch Report w/e 25/11

The atrocious weather conditions over the last week provided difficult angling for the hardy anglers fishing pegs at Town Parks Fishery. The top Match Lake provided good sport and some of the anglers who fished during the worst weather took some good fish.

Rod Metcalf fished for Silvers on the pole from peg 18 and took some nice fish, including a couple of Bream on soft pellet before changing to his waggler rod. Metcalf saw some Carp moving  near the island and took 5 fish – all falling to pellet.

Several anglers banked Carp from various pegs – one reported taking six Carp from peg 7 during the last hour and a half of his visit!!

The Specimen Lake also saw Carp coming to the bank.

John Connabeer fished a day session from peg 10 and decided to move his bait regularly – casting towards any signs of fish moving. Connabeer was rewarded with a fine fully scaled Carp which tipped the scales at 18lbs 3oz. The fish fell to a small white pop up.

Local rod John Connabeer fished a day session from peg 10 at Town Parks Fishery. Connabeer’s tactics paid off. After moving his baits regularly he was rewarded with this beautiful fully scaled Carp of  18lbs 3oz.

Regular Nick Solomon visited peg 2 at Town Parks Fishery fishing in atrocious weather conditions. Solomon took two Carp on Cell boilies, the best this fine condition Common Carp of 19lbs 2oz!

Regular local rod Nick Solomon fished peg 2 during an extremely wet and windy night but his persistence paid off with two good Carp coming to the net! Best fish was an excellent condition Common of 19lbs 2oz which fell to a Cell boilie offered mid water.

Hopefully more settled weather will bring the bigger specimens on the feed on the run up to Christmas.

Town Parks Fishery Catch Report w/e 18/11

The Match Lake at Town Parks Fishery continued to produce goods bags for most anglers.
Carp are still coming to the bank in numbers despite the changeable weather conditions.

Rod Metcalf visited peg 16 and fished pellet up in the water taking six good Carp in a short session.

Silvers continue to take maggot and castor although the fish are up and down in the water depending on the conditions.

Some good Bream have been taken, a 4lbs 8 oz fish took sweetcorn offered in the reed margins of peg 1 visitor Vic Edwards.

On the Specimen Lake sport has been sporadic with fish going on and off the feed.

One particularly good fish came to the net of Bovey Tracey rod Lee Jones. Fishing his first session at Town Parks Jones fished a Cell boilie mid water in front of peg 15 and was rewarded with a fine personal best Common which tipped the scales at 23lbs 9oz! This beat his best by over 9lbs!

Bovey Tracey rod Lee Jones fished his first session at Town Parks Fishery. Fishing a Cell boilie towards the central bar Jones banked his personal best Common Carp which tipped the scales at 23LBS 9OZ!

Dale Churchill had an excellent session from peg 9 taking a 17lbs 4oz Common within minutes of setting up! Another Common also came to the bank at 16lbs 2oz. Both fish fell to Passion Baits Rum N Raison which Churchill was trialing.

Local rod Dale Churchill fished peg 9 at Town Parks Fishery testing new baits for Passion baits and was rewarded with this good Common which fell to a Rum n Raison boilie fished mid water.
Churchill’s fishing partner Mark Jenner also banked a 16lbs 1oz Mirror which fell to a single Frank Warwicks PH special boilie.

Dale Churchill fished peg 9 at Town Parks Fishery and banked this 16lbs 2oz Common Carp. Churchill was bait testing for Passion Baits Rum N Raison which worked with great effect!

The Specimen Lake usually fishes very well throughout the Winter months with some of the Fisheries biggest specimens coming to the bank!  Feed lightly with only a few freebies or a small PVA bag filled with small pellet or ground bait, use a small lead which will not sink into the silty lake bottom and pop your bait up with artificial corn or a pop up boilie.
